Fairborn Varsity Football moved to 2-0 for the first time since 2011 with a 45-32 victory Friday night in the home opener.
The Skyhawks accumulated 546 yards of offense on the night. Hunter Warner and Patrick Parrish had career nights. Warner carried the ball 26 times for 237 yards and 3 TD runs, including two of 68 yards. He also added two catches for 83 yards, including a 75 yards TD reception. Patrick Parrish went an efficient 7 of 9 passing for 176 yards and a TD, and also added 87 yards on only 9 catches and 2 more TD’s. The Skyhawk offensive line of Josh Manning, Jaden Bush, Sam Roberts, Spencer George, and Isaiah Smith paved the way for 370 yards on the ground as a team.
Defensively, the Skyhawks made key plays in the 4th quarter to seal the win. Cornerback Dwight Lewis had two huge interceptions in the quarter, and also finished with 6 tackles. Linebacker Cam Hamilton had a team leading 10 tackles. Warner added 6 tackles and a sack.
Fairborn travels to Tippecanoe next Friday, September 11th for a 7pm kickoff in a matchup of unbeatens.
